Introduction

 

The Persian Carpet, a piece of art par excellence representing the zenith of imagination, ingenuity and perfection and ranking amongst the highest level of art ever attained by mankind; is the finest and the most exquisite form of artistic expression.

The art of designing and weaving was nurtured in the ancient Iranian cities of Kashan and Isfahan. Both cities have remained as symbols of civilization and the focal point of Iran’s history, art and masterly creations and in particular the birth place of Iranian master carpet weavers

The famous ancient Iranian saying  “Isfahan nesf-e Jahan” (Isfahan – a half of the world) was coined in the 16th century to express the city’s splendor, magnificence and grandeur. Many an artists, with supernatural capabilities, have hailed from this city and the city abounds with exclusive artifacts and architecture.

The Persian Carpet owes much to this city. This city has given birth to master Iranian carpet weavers, whose name and their skillfully handcrafted creations will eternally remain in the Persian Carpet history.
