6- Export of Auto Industry
In a period beginning from 1994 to 1999, the export of auto industry with an average of 20% growth has yielded $48.9 million per year. During 10 months in 2000 the export of this sector of industry hit $49.8 million which shows 47% increase comparing with the figures of the preceding year.

 
7- Quality of Domestic Cars
In view of the growing trend of cooperation between domestic companies and auto manufacturers the production of accessories in the country has significantly accelarated. For example, in 1999 the portion of domestic parts used in "Paykan", "Pride", "Peugeot" and "Patrol" cars have increased from 15%, 27,1%, 47.1% and 15.9% to 98%, 85%, 86.2%, and 54%, respectively. Meanwhile, following the promotion of the quality of domestic accessories, a number of Iranian manufacturers have accomplished to obtain higher international standard awards and ISO 9000 Quality Assurance Certificate. In table No. 3, the list of companies which have achieved to obtain ISO certificate until 1998 are represented.
8- Demand for Cars
According to assessments released by "SAPCO", demand for private cars has increased from 164,500 in March 1997 to 243,600 in March 1998 (about 48%). The figure hit 293,761 in March 1999 (about 78.5%). It is noteworthy that the demand for private cars in January 2000 recorded at 367,222 indicating 27.2% of growth comparing with the figures of previous year.
(1) The demand is calculated by average production in a given period during working days of customer waiting period.
