| 1.
Bu-Ali-Sina, the most distinguished of physicians in all
times |

| Hossein Ibn
Ali Ibn Sina who is well-known across the world as Avicenna,
and given the epithet master of all physician, was born
to a noble and erudite family in the year 979 in one of
Bokhara's villages. This superior physician, later became
the most influential person in the arenas of science and
philosophy in the world of Islam. He learned the glorious
koran at the age of five and soon attained maturity and
perfection in religious studies. Bu-Ali started reading
medicine and philosophy at 16, compiled and wrote the
significant treatise (book) of Ghanoon, a masterpiece
concerning medicine in 14 volumes when he was barely 19.
Avicenna produced over 180 essays and treatises during
his life time. Apart from medicine and philosophy, he
also outmastered his contemporaries in logic, mathematics,
astronomy, natural sciences, music, alchemy as well as
many other areas of investigations |

2.Abubakr-Mohammad-Ibne-Zakarria-ye-Razi: |
| The renowned
Iranian scientist and physician (251-313AH) studied philosophy,
mathematics, astronomy and literature in the city of Ray.
At the later stages of his life he delved into medicine
in which he earned substantial global recognition and
acclamation. Generally, Razi held certain philosophical
ideas contrary to those of Aristolle's. Not only the discovery
of alcohol is attributed to Razi, but he is also the first
to embark upon compiling a treatise on child medicine
(pediatrics) as well as conducting extensive research
on diseases such as pox, measeles and skin eruption. |

Hafez, the supreme master of mystical lyric or poetry |

Khajeh Shamsoddin-Mohammad-Hafez-e-Shirazi
was born in early 8th century AH in the fabulous city
of shiraz. He devotedly committed himself to study multifarious
sciences, during his youth, through which he ventured
into delicate arenas of theosophy, Koranic interpretation
and exegesis as well as classical Arab literature.
He was given the name Hafez, which mean memorizer, for
he knew the holy Koran by heart. His splendid masterpiece
called the grand Divan enjoys the loftiest status throughout
the annals of the Persian language and can, interestingly
enough, be found in almost every Iranian household. Thus,
people usually consult Hafez(s) Divan to see what it augurs.
He has veritable been acclaimed as the king or sultan
of mystical poetry, which has earned him, of course, global
recognition too. His great "Divan" in the meantime
has been translated into several languages. |

4.
Dr. Mahmood Hessabi "the chosen scientific character
for the 1990" |
| In 1990, the ABI biographic
institute in United States as well another similar center
in Britian, in an arduous selection among some 5,000 world
scientific figures, chose Dr. Mahmood Hessabi as the man
of science for the year. He was born in Tafresh, in the
suburbs of Tehran in 1281. Dr. Hessabi received his education
both in Lebanon and France, in the fields of electrical
and mine engineering, medicine, biology, astronomy and
finally in physics. After earning the doctorate degree
or (Ph.D) in physics from Sourbon university in Paris,
he returned home and began his cultural and scientific
endeavors. Instituting Tehran university's geo-physics
institute, establishing the first meteorological station
and the first satellite - scanning observatory in Shiraz
as well as founding the atomic research center are all
but small ortions of the immensity of services rendered
by this accomplished man of knowledge. |
