Fishing
Geography |
| Geographically
all the fisheries and catches are divided into three
sections: The Caspian Sea, Waters in the south and Domestic
Waters.
1- Caspian Sea waters:
The provinces sharing this region consist of Gilan,
Mazandaran and Golestan Provinces. The southern section
of the Caspian Sea with rivers or streams pouring into
them as well as swamps are home to various marine life
creatures.
2- Waters in the south:
The Iranian territory inside the Persian Gulf and the
Oman Sea as well as Arvand Rood river and international
waters form such waters. The provinces sharing this region
consist of Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Sistano-Baluchestan.
3- Domestic waters:
Many forms of aquatic life inhabit ponds, inclusive
of natural and artificial lakes, small and large dams,
water channels, as well as swamps, rivers, streams,
etc make up the domestic waters. Such places are used
for reproduction of fishes and other water creatures.
Such creatures are divided into two types according
to their production aquatic characteristics: Inhabitants
of cold waters and those in warm waters. Generally speaking
domestic waters are inhabitant of diversified fishes.

Diversification of reproduced fishes: |
 |
Reproducing
or catching fishes is differentiated according to diversification
of climate:
Estrogen (producer of caviar), anchovy, and boned fishes
such as salmon, pike, carp, etc are caught in the Caspian
Sea, which is located in the north of the country. In
addition to shrimp, ocean fishes such as tuna, cod, sardine,
sole, whiting, skate, mullet, roach, herring, mackerel,
haddock, carp, plaice and shark are caught in the Persian
Gulf and the Sea of Oman, located in the south. A few
various forms of aquatic life inhabit ponds, referred
to as domestic waters, are home to artificially reproduced
shrimp, trout, etc. |
